Electrical/Electronic Engineer (Fire Safety Systems)

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.

Fire Safety certification (preferred).

Experience:

2+ years of experience in electrical/electronic system design with exposure to fire safety systems.

Prior experience with fire suppression systems, fire alarms, smoke detectors, or emergency lighting systems is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of fire separation systems and electrical safety codes.

Familiarity with fire extinguisher types and applications.

Proficiency in reading and designing wiring diagrams and electrical layouts for fire protection systems.

Experience with NFPA, NEC, BS 5839, or similar fire safety standards.

Familiar with PLC systems, alarm panels, and communication protocols used in safety systems.

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with fire safety, civil, and mechanical teams.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Design & Installation:

Design and assist in the installation of electrical systems associated with fire detection and suppression systems.

Ensure that systems meet fire code compliance and building safety regulations.

System Integration:

Integrate fire alarm systems with other building management systems (BMS) and emergency control systems.

Evaluate fire separation requirements in buildings and coordinate electrical infrastructure accordingly.

Inspection & Testing:

Conduct periodic inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire safety electrical systems.

Validate functionality of fire extinguishing equipment and related electronics.

Documentation:

Prepare technical reports, as-built drawings, and compliance documentation.

Maintain detailed logs of maintenance, inspection, and test results.

Training & Support:

Provide technical support and training to on-site teams regarding fire safety electrical systems and fire extinguisher applications.

Assist in risk assessments and safety audits.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure all electrical fire safety components comply with national and international safety standards.

Liaise with fire safety authorities and participate in system approval processes.

A qualified specialist in fire safety electrical systems with expertise in design, integration, compliance, and maintenance.
