Devops Engineer

● IT, Engineering, or MBA Graduate with at least 2 years of experience in DevOps tools and procedures.

● Demonstrable experience in handling medium complexity projects.

● Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills - both English and Nepali. Fluent with client communication.

● Demonstrable experience with source code management tools such as Subversion and Git.

● Experience deploying and administering Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, TeamCity or Bamboo.

● Experience with Infrastructure cloud tools such as Terraform, Docker, Ansible, etc.

● Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL/CentOS/Debian) and its fundamentals and security. Windows knowledge is a plus.

● Experience with transactional databases (MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL, POSTGRES) configured for high availability and redundancy.

● Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, CouchDB, Cassandra) configured for high availability and redundancy.

● Strong knowledge of and practical experience with SSL, DNS, NGINX, MySQL, MongoDB, Ubuntu, Docker, Kubernetes.

● Experience building cloud-based infrastructure solutions in AWS, GCP, Azure with a strong governance model knowledge.

● Ability to multitask, work well under pressure and prioritize work against competing deadlines and changing business priorities.

● People skills - ability to supervise, delegate & empower team members; ability to persuade, motivate, inspire and mentor team members; ability to provide direct and candid feedback to team members on their performance; demonstrable experience of people development; ability to identify and recruit people suitable for the organization

● Build a strong relationship with the development teams to understand the code, its dependencies, and the infrastructure on which it runs.

● Build and maintain systems that will monitor all aspects of the application and the infrastructure.

● Strengthen and maintain the monitoring, backup and management of the build and deployment processes and infrastructure.

● Design and engineer the DevOps CI/CD tooling and platform roadmap and own the lifecycle of these platforms.

● Assist development team with deployment strategy and capacity planning across development, QA, staging and production environments.

● Work with the development team to deploy and manage tools that support SDLC automation, configuration management, and release management.

● Automate business continuity/disaster recovery.

● Have moderate understanding and experience operating in an agile development environment.

● Provide timely, accurate, and unbiased feedback to team members and senior management on both improvement areas and remarkable achievements/contributions.

● Responsible for skills development of team members.

● Report to Senior Management on project status.
