DataBase Administrator

Must have Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field.

Must have at least 5+ years of experience as a database administrator.

Excellent portfolio with proven work experiences in complex database management.

Good time-management skills with an ability for multi-tasking and the ability to prioritize tasks who can work independently too. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

SOFT SKILLS:

Strong proficiency in written & verbal communication along with documentation skill.

Must be able to recognize patterns in unstructured data and create quantifiable recommendations and solutions.

Understanding of business objectives and strategies is a vital aspect of determining appropriate database administration policies and procedures. 

Setup, monitor, and maintain disaster recovery solutions for production databases.

Create databases and database objects such as tables, indexes, views, functions, and stored procedures.

Creating and managing backup, restore, user access policies.

Leading database change management processes and supporting CI/CD processes from a database perspective

Experience in Data Modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) / ELT (Extract, Load and Transform) workflow management Working with data engineers to manage data flows between multiple storage sources

Advising developers on data storage aspects of building robust, scalable applications

Performance tuning of databases and SQL queries

Automating processes and creating maintenance plan for multiple database environments

Occasional on-call duties

Mapping out and documenting data relationships Have done database administration in a GCP environment

Strong understanding of Postgres database security management

Proficiency in writing SQL queries and stored procedures

Proficiency in SQL query tuning Excellent documentation skills.

Strong knowledge of operating systems, Java/Shell/Python scripting are big plus.

DataStore, BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow, remote work experience are plus
